چکیده

Two murine homologs of the Drosophila Kriippel gene, a member of the gap class of developmental control genes that encode a protein with zinc fingers, were mapped to mouse chromosomes 8 and 11 by using somatic cell hybrids and an interspecific backcross. Surprisingly, both genes were closely linked to two previously mapped, Krtippelrelated zinc finger protein genes, suggesting that they are part of gene complexes.

The Effect of 8-Weeks of Low-Intensity Swimming Training on Promyelocytic Leukemia Zinc Finger Protein and Spermatid Transition Nuclear Protein Gene Expression in Azoospermic Rats Model

Aims: One of the causes of infertility in men is the azoospermia disease, which is attributed to the lack of sperm in each sperm. The primary function of spermatogenesis is the maintenance, proliferation, and differentiation of spermatogonial cells. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the changes in Promyelocytic Leukemia Zinc Finger (PLZF) and spermatid Transition Nuclear Protein (TNP...

Interaction between the transcription factor SPBP and the positive cofactor RNF4. An interplay between protein binding zinc fingers.

The activator of stromelysin 1 gene transcription, SPBP, interacts with the RING finger protein RNF4. Both proteins are ubiquitously expressed and localized in the nucleus. RNF4 facilitates accumulation of specific SPBP-DNA complexes in vitro and acts as a positive cofactor in SPBP-mediated transactivation. SPBP harbors an internal zinc finger of the PHD/LAP type. This domain can form intra-cha...

A common DNA-binding site for SZF1 and the BRCA1-associated zinc finger protein, ZBRK1.

More than 220 Kruppel-associated box-zinc finger protein (KRAB-ZFP) genes are encoded in the human genome. KRAB-ZFPs function as transcriptionalrepressors by binding DNA through their tandem zinc finger motifs.Gene silencing is mediated by the highly conserved KRAB domain, which recruits histone deacetylase complexes, histone methylases, and heterochromatin proteins. However, little is known of...

Association of erythroid transcription factors: complexes involving the LIM protein RBTN2 and the zinc-finger protein GATA1.

The RBTN2 LIM-domain protein, originally identified as an oncogenic protein in human T-cell leukemia, is essential for erythropoiesis. A possible role for RBTN2 in transcription during erythropoiesis has been investigated. Direct interaction of the RBTN2 protein was observed in vivo and in vitro with the GATA1 or -2 zinc-finger transcription factors, as well as with the basic helix-loop-helix p...

Metal-based inhibition of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase--the guardian angel of DNA.

The inhibition activity of a series of anticancer metal complexes based on platinum, ruthenium, and gold metal ions was evaluated on the zinc-finger protein PARP-1, either purified or directly on protein extracts from human breast cancer MCF7 cells. Information on the reactivity of the metal complexes with the PARP-1 zinc-finger domain was obtained by high-resolution ESI FT-ICR mass spectrometr...
